All of the following acts are accomplished in their particular field of folk/acoustic/world roots.
Resident barn dance band at Leeds Castle for both Kentish Evenings and corporate functions, Jezreels feature Steve Moreham on violin, Chris Taylor (ex Fiddlers Dram) on melodeon, banjo, mandolin, Mike Peters on bass and Doug Hudson on calling, guitar and song vocals. They play for weddings and most functions and have performed for McClaren Formula One after race party, the Tickham Hunt, the British Embassy in Brussels and many other diverse customers.
THE HOT RATS
Exciting folk/rock with electric violin from Ian Cutler (Feast of Fiddles) and occasionally Tony Rico on saxes and flutes, plus Mike Peters and Doug Hudson as above.
Although primarily a concert band, The Hot Rats will turn their hand to a bit of barn dancing in special circumstances (i.e. if the money is right!)
SKINNERS RATS
One of the best known bands in the south east of England, Skinners Rats are one of the most respected bands in terms of expertise.
If you want a band that will do a Scottish ceilidh or an Irish evening or just a good old fashioned English barn dance, Skinners Rats are ideal. I have used this band for every imaginary function from singing sea shanties at weddings, to solo fiddling, New Year's Eve bagpipes to the resident band for my folk club at the highly successful Medway Folk Cellar at the Central Theatre in Chatham.
They will perform mostly as a three piece with accordion, violin and guitar, incorporating caller. As seen on the 'Big Breakfast'.
FOOTLOOSE
Great five piece band who stand up for their performance. They get the audience involved and make the evening into a party. Concertinas, fiddles, keyboards, guitars, two callers.....they have done countless barn dances for me and I have had nothing but praise.PUB FOLK ACTS
TOM PALMER
Tom is the best acoustic folk/rock performer - probably in England - with his own and other material.
You would be hard pressed to find a more dynamic performer than Tom - brilliant voice, fantastic guitar playing and the best PA you'll find for miles.
HOT RATS DUO (OR HUDSON & CUTLER)
They are idealistic and play with passion. Laura Targett is one of our best fiddle players and Lucy Randall provides the percussion. They are a band who are going from stremgth to strength - if you have a venue book them, they are a young class act (bear in mind Kate Rusby's current fee is around £1500!)
The ultimate in corporate entertainment.
Davey is brilliant and can give you anything from a jester to a mediaeval night with sword fighters, bed of nails, magic and rock n' roll bop to a demonstration of birds of prey fire eatin and minstrelsy.
Dave is the ultimate entertainer.
In demand for their contribution to the ambience of an event, the Medway Minstrels were flown to Japan for British Week in the city of Oita. Here they are performing with two Irish dancers and a solo morris dancer.
STEVE WINCHESTER
Very classy singer/songwriter who often plays with Tom Palmer.
He likes to perform original material and has a couple of good CDs out. When he does other people's stuff it's always a good song selection.
